Hattie’s Rainbow of Hope Appeal with Hitchin Belles (and friends)

Hitchin Belles Players and Coaches have embarked on an epic challenge to raise much needed funds for Hattie's Rainbow of Hope Appeal.

Hattie is fighting her own personal battle with cancer and this appeal was set up by her family as a way to give something back for the fantastic care and treatment she has received.

All money raised will go directly to fund research into kinder and more effective treatments for the type of cancer Hattie has - rhabdomyosarcoma.

Hattie can tell you more about it herself:

The original plan was to raise £1,000 by getting the Belles to run or walk 3,430 miles (to match the furthest distance between football grounds in the upcoming European Championship - Baku to Bilbao).

But the efforts and donations have surpassed all expectations and the targets have had to be revised, so they are now aiming to raise £10,000 and cover a total distance of 9,540 miles!

Once they've reached the original destination of Bilbao, the new challenge is to visit the other 10 Euro host cities, then get back to Hitchin - going through 27 countries in 28 days.
